Job Summary

Facility Managers supervise all operational functions and personnel at the Eccles Student Life Center.

Facility Managers are familiar with, and understand the duties of all other student staff positions. They know the mission of Campus Recreation Services and use it to guide their actions. Facility Managers must possess thorough knowledge of all facility operations including partner/tenant users.

Campus Recreation Services is located at the George S. Eccles Student Life Center, which connects student Life with academic life to create an engaged campus community. Amenities include a 50-meter pool, indoor and outdoor leisure pools, large indoor hot tub/spa, 320-yard indoor running track, bouldering and 4-story climbing wall, 5 sport courts, racquetball courts, 4 group fitness studios, and a combative room. Additional amenities include a branch of the U First Credit Union, Shake Smart, four sand volleyball courts and an outdoor basketball court.

Student Affairs is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the ultimate goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. Responsibilities

· Monitor the safety of all participants in all activity areas

· Recognize and respond to all incidents and emergencies, as well as provide proper emergency care when necessary

· Enforce and interpret all facility and employee policies and procedures

· Complete thorough written reports and documents

· Record statistical data for facility safety and area usage

· Responsible for facility and equipment setups/strike downs

· Communicate any issues or needs regarding equipment and spaces to appropriate staff

· Possess a general knowledge of all cardio and strength equipment

· Provide facility tours as requested

· Perform light housekeeping and maintenance duties

· Execute all opening and closing procedures

· Assist with events and programs that are scheduled in the facility

· Evaluate student staff performance

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

· Current University of Utah Student

· Consecutive employment at CRS for a minimum of two semesters (semester of application does count)

· Ability to self-motivate with minimum supervision

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Current CPR certification or the ability to complete via in house within one month required

· AED and First Aid certifications required

· Outstanding guest service and leadership skills
