We work hand-in-hand with our customers as business partners as we make it our daily mission to facilitate clinical research by ensuring the technology (both traditional and emerging) matches the business needs.

The Data Coordinating Center's IT group has an immediate need for an IT Supervisor. This position will report directly to the IT Director and will be instrumental in managing and guiding the IT team towards operational excellence. Key responsibilities include interfacing with external stakeholders and primarily focusing on being an effective and supportive leader for the team. This includes fostering personal and professional growth, ensuring consistent staff development, and championing an environment rooted in collaboration, understanding, and quality. The IT Supervisor will be central to upholding a culture of quality, ensuring exceptional customer service, and actively helping execute toward the senior leadership's strategic vision for the Data Coordinating Center. The Supervisor with support the IT Director in managing external relationships with federal government sponsors, particularly in the context of operating their Federal Information Security Management Act ( FISMA) projects. This role involves coordinating with federal agencies, understanding their requirements and expectations, and ensuring that the organization's projects align with these standards. Additionally, this role provides a significant opportunity to engage with cybersecurity and privacy officers, offering a direct channel to report on the security posture of the project. This interaction not only enhances the project's credibility and compliance but also serves as a critical learning and development avenue in the realms of cybersecurity and privacy management.

This position is hybrid, requiring the selected candidate to either reside in or be willing to move to the Salt Lake City area.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct oversight and coordination for activities relating to the daily operation of IT and its staff.
  • Hire, oversee, develop, and manage staff with the goal of maintaining quality processes and practices.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding materials and plans.
  • Hire and directly supervise staff members. Approve time and attendance.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to oversee project work.
  • Support staff in decision making, project planning, and goal setting
  • Communicate regularly with the team; share information, and provide relevant updates.
  • Complete evaluations and promote staff development and educational opportunities as appropriate.

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
