Position Summary
The UT College of Arts and Sciences is looking for a seasoned video storyteller that creates a wide range of visual content for the college, its 30+ departments and interdisciplinary programs, and centers for research and creative activity to support student recruitment and retention; engage alumni and donors; share faculty research, creative activity, and scholarship; and promote the college’s brand and image. The right candidate must work well in a fast paced environment, be organized, and a team player. Great written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create a positive experience with campus and community partners is required.
Job Responsibilities
· Create, plan, and execute all aspects of high-quality video projects from initial concept to final delivery
· Develop and execute visual graphic ideas, motion graphics, and animations
· Determine creative direction and visual tone for video content and collaborate with the creative team to develop concepts and storyboards for video projects that support college strategic priorities
· Interact with partners to determine project scope, and continues correspondence to project completion
· Coordinate video recording schedules and plans with staff, subject-matter experts, and clients.
· Capture high-quality video footage using professional-grade cameras and equipment
· Recording and editing video content such as interviews, narration, and music tracks
· Edit and produce videos using professional editing software and prepare background footage
· Operate cameras and direct lighting setups in field and studio production
· Create motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects
· Performing post-production tasks such as comping, fade-ins, fades-outs, and other special effects to footage
· Add closed captioning and ensure all videos are produced within UT brand guidelines
· Ensure video projects are completed on time and meet the required specifications
· Track video metrics and key performance indicators, such as the number of views, likes, shares, and conversions.
· Keep up to speed on current video-creation trends and practices.
· Maintain organization of studio equipment, and keep all equipment in working order
· Maintain organization of filing system for digital audio and visual assets
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Advanced knowledge of video production principles
· Strong videography, audio production, and lighting skills
· Strong knowledge of camera operation, composition, lighting, and sound recording techniques
· Familiarity with photography principles and techniques
· Experience with motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects
· Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and other video editing software
· Ability to direct talent and conduct interviews
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
· Strong communication and collaboration skills
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Ability to operate various types of video cameras including documentary-style and cinematic cameras
· Adobe Creative Suite software skills, including Illustrator, After Effects and/or DaVinci Resolve
· Adobe Premier or Avid Media Composer skills
Qualifications :
Education
Required: Associate's Degree in graphic design, communications, video production, cinema studies, social sciences/humanities and at least 7 years video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR a high school diploma and at least 9 years video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified)
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, communications, video production, cinema studies, broadcast journalism and at least 5 years video production experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
