Musculoskeletal Radiology Division - Faculty Position Available Summer 2023
The Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time radiologist in the Division of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Diagnostic Radiology with a concentration on MSK Imaging. Responsibilities for the person in this role include active participation in clinical and educational endeavors within the MSK Division. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Radiology and fellowship trained in MSK radiology. Responsibilities include teaching and mentoring FSM trainees and students.
In addition to the usual clinical skill sets (radiography, CT, MRI, arthrograms/joint aspirations), competence at diagnostic MSK US, image-guided tumor biopsies and therapeutic interventions, and fluoroscopically-guided spine interventions, including therapeutic pain injections, will be expected. Successful applicants will also provide a collegial and collaborative environment that will promote programmatic growth and provide excellent patient care. Excellent facilities are available for all imaging modalities related to MSK imaging, including 2 mobile fluoroscopy units in the Orthopaedic and Spine Clinics in the Lavin Pavilion on the main campus, in which we perform image-guided joint and spine injections; 13 CT scanners (including two Siemens FORCE DS/DE, three 128 AS+, one Siemens Excite, which is a recently FDA-approved single source dual-energy scanner, and several 64-slice units); 18 clinical MR scanners (including 9 3T units); and one 3T PET-MR scanner. A Siemens Edge, which is a hybrid CT/vascular system used in Interventional Radiology has also recently been installed. Finally, we have a Carestream OnSight 3D extremity CT system within the Orthopaedic Clinic, which is capable of performing weight-bearing studies.
The Department of Radiology faculty provides clinical services to patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) and its Northwestern Medicine affiliates. NMH, a state-of-the-art tertiary medical center, is located in downtown Chicago and serves as the primary teaching hospital of the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The successful applicant will also spend 1-2 days per week at our new Evanston outpatient imaging location, located on the North Shore of Chicago, approximately 12 miles from our downtown campus.
